Charlie Bartlett

The movie Charlie Bartlett, I thought, really delivered a message that many teenagers need to become aware of. The idea behind this movie was to have the main character, Charlie Bartlett, who led a very mixed up family life, (father in jail, mother depressed, and getting kicked out of every private school he went to), go to a public school where he tries his hardest to fit in. He tries being in the school play and he even tries selling a DVD of all fights that one kid had gotten into at the school to the student body. When all that failed he finds his calling counseling the student body from the stalls in the boys bathroom about their life troubles while at the same time prescribing them prescription drugs that he gets from the family psychiatrist. Throughout the movie he gets into a couple scraps with the law and sooner or later learns his lesson. He comes to terms with the idea that you do not have to be the most popular drug dealer in the school for people to like you, if they are really your friends they will like you just the way you are, drugs or no drugs. I thought that this movie was very good and sent a good message to everyone who thought they needed everyone in high school to like them in order to matter. But this movie proved that wrong and not only did it have a good wholesome message behind it, it also was very funny and entertaining. I would definitely recommend this movie to everyone.

Juno

I recently saw Juno and I was not sure how I felt about it at first. Although I really enjoyed the concept behind this movie, once I tired to relate the situation of being in high school and pregnant I realized my family would have handled the situation much differently than Juno's. I thought that the way her father and step-mother took the news of her being pregnant very nonchalant, which I guess could be a good thing, but I feel like as parents they should have handled the situation with more seriousness. Overall , though, I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good laugh.
